MSPs Become Virtual CIOs: TruMethods Launches myITprocess

keynote 030

Most top MSP (managed services providers) leverage PSA and RMM software to remotely manage, monitor and automate business processes. TruMethods, an MSP coaching organization, is launching myITprocess — a cloud-based service to help MSPs extend beyond PSA and RMM to master vCIO (virtual CIO) and network administrator services.

Details about myITprocess surfaced this morning at Schnizzfest, TruMethods’ annual MSP conference. The myITprocess portal, described by TruMethods CEO Gary Pica, will allow MSPs and customers to keep technology in alignment with business needs, enhance or extend best practices, and offer long-term technology planning.

The Bigger Picture

TruMethods is not seeking to compete with PSA (professional services automation) software from such companies as Autotask and ConnecWise. Nor is TruMethods seeking to compete with RMM (remote monitoring and management) software popularized by such companies as Continuum, Kaseya, LabTech Software, Level Platforms, N-able Technologies and PacketTrap MSP (among others).

Instead, the focus seems to be on helping MSPs become virtual Chief Information Officers (vCIOs). The myITprocess is all cloud-based, secure and multi-tenant, said TruMethods CTO Bob Penland. An alpha test is complete, a second phase of development is under way, with a beta to follow soon.

TruMethods hopes to officially launch myITprocess in time for IT Nation, the annual event hosted by ConnectWise. Yes, it will integrate with ConnectWise, TruMethods CEO Gary Pica confirmed. Penland said the integration will involve scheduling and tickets. Maybe down the line, Pica said, myITprocess will offer RMM integration.

For the foreseeable future, myITprocess will only be available to TruMethods members, Pica said.
