NaviSite (NAVI) has opened a new data center in Santa Clara, California. This facility, which is owned by data center and colocation solutions provider Digital Realty (DLR), is designed to help NaviSite meet the growing demands for its cloud and managed services.
The Santa Clara data center will join NaviSite’s network of nine existing data centers across the United States and United Kingdom that are used to store business applications and data. It will support the company’s portfolio of services, NaviSite said, across colocation, cloud-enabled managed hosting and application management.
“NaviSite has maintained a strong presence on the West Coast for more than a decade with our San Jose data center,” NaviSite General Manager Sumeet Sabharwal told Talkin’ Cloud. “The new Santa Clara data center allows us to expand upon that strong foundation.”
Sabharwal added that NaviSite and Digital Realty act together as highly complementary solution providers.
Digital Realty has invested extensively to provide high-speed networks to ensure that data is transported between data centers and customer locations rapidly and securely, Sabharwal said. He also noted that he believes NaviSite’s expansion to a Digital Realty-owned facility in Santa Clara “serves as a testament to [his company’s] commitment to provide customers with world-class, carrier-neutral facilities.”
