Nuspire, Sonitel S.A. Pursue Central America Managed Services
June 13, 2011
Grupo Sonitel S.A. of Panama has joined the Nuspire Partner Program. Nuspire and Sonitel will combine Nuspire’s network management, monitoring and security services with Sonitels’ customer service and support. The partnership is the result of a two year effort to bring Nuspire Network’s security solutions to Central and South America. I spoke recently with Nuspire Director of Business Development Daniel Hoban to learn more about the partnership.
“Sonitel is a great integration partner in Central and South America,” said Hoban. “Our tools are made to integrate with one another. So this is going to be a co-branding effort.” Nuspire specifically targets customers that have many offices spread out over a large geographic area. Nuspire has already entered the managed security market in Brazil, Chile and Argentina. Hoban says this partnership is different. “They [Sonitel] will use their network operations center [NOC] and security operations center [SOC] to leverage our technology in Panama. That’s why this partnership is unique.”
From Sonitel’s standpoint, Hoban said the company has been looking for a quick entry into the managed security services market. Sonitel partnered with Nuspire because it allows Sonitel to enter the market quicker than it would if it were to develop its own managed security services offering.
The partnership is strategic news for Nuspire and comes shortly after the company was named Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for MSSP’s in North America. If all goes with with this recent partnership with Sonitel, Hoban says the company is open to breaking tape on an office in Central and/or South America.
