PaaS Startup ContainerShip Raises $2.41 Million in Funding
Pittsburgh-based startup ContainerShip has raised a $2.41 seed round on Thursday led by Draper Triangle Ventures and Birchmere Ventures.
Pittsburgh-based startup ContainerShip has raised a $2.41 seed round on Thursday led by Draper Triangle Ventures and Birchmere Ventures.
ContainerShip is a platform as a service that can be run in a user’s data center or cloud, and supports deployment of any workload that can run in a container.
The company said its service helps users “unlock the power and capacity of any hosting provider and seamlessly expand your workload anywhere securely without changing the way you operate.”
According to a report by TechCrunch, ContainerShip launched at TechCrunch’s Disrupt NY 2015 conference after working on the actual product for about 6 months prior. The company tells TechCrunch it now has a “number of paying customers” and the funding will spur additional product updates.
The ContainerShip Cloud offers integration with Rackspace, AWS, DigitalOcean, Microsoft Azure, Linode and others.
