PlumChoice Names David Shimoni President and CEO

Cloud enablement and technical services provider PlumChoice announced on Tuesday that David Shimoni has been named president and CEO, effective immediately.

Shimoni succeeds Bob Badavas who has led the company over the past four years.

Prior to PlumChoice, Shimoni was president and general manager at Mformation Software Technologies, a provider of mobile device management solutions for the IoT space, seeing the company through its acquisition by Alcatel-Lucent in 2015.

Parks Associates forecasts that the consumer and SMB technical support services market will grow to nearly $15 billion by 2018. That growth signifies the need for support services before, during and after the purchase to help partners provide better user experiences throughout the customer lifecycle and nurture long-lasting relationships with end users,” Bob Schechter, PlumChoice’s Chairman of the Board said. “Shimoni joins PlumChoice during a time in which the company has been leveraging its leadership position in the premium technical support market to expand into the cloud and IoT sectors.  With his background and experience, we expect David to further expand the company’s penetration into these markets.”

Previously, Shimoni served in executive leadership roles at Comverse Network Systems, Mobixell Networks and Networks In Motion.

“The burgeoning cloud and IoT markets are exciting to be in right now,” Shimoni said in a statement. “Each day, PlumChoice provides support and services on behalf of our partners to thousands of end users and businesses who are looking to expand their use of smart home technology or increase productivity and efficiencies with the cloud. The demand for such services is expected to increase dramatically in the years to come. I am excited to join PlumChoice during this period of growth and look forward to leading the team through the next wave of services for the future.”
