OpenShift supports a range of languages, including Java, Ruby, PHP, Python, Node.js, and Perl.
OpenShift Online runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the SELinux subsystem. The solution was built from the OpenShift Origin open source project. Third-party extensions are available or users can build their own through OpenShift’s extensible, pluggable cartridge framework.
Red Hat said that this solution makes it one of the few vendors to to offer a "full family of open PaaS solutions."
