Alan Sandler
The distributor's founding partner and managing partner opened and closed the main keynotes at the summit. Sandler founded Sandler Partners in 2013 and was a co-founding shareholder of TelePacific. He spoke to Channel Partners for our recap of the summit.
GeoLinks
GeoLinks, the California-based internet and phone provider, sponsored the summit and exhibited in the "Solutions Showcase" room. The company sells ClearFiber, a fixed wireless broadband offering, as one of its signature products. GeoLinks also offers hosted voice, Ethernet and backup circuits.
TPx and AT&T
Kevin Leonard (right), vice president of alternate channels for AT&T, and Dick Jalkut (middle), president and CEO of TPx Communications, answered questions from Sandler Partners' Paul Seeley. The men shed interesting light on how TPx and the AT&T Alliance Channel have each evolved their services and brand over the last decade. Jalkut explained how TPx plans to expand nationally and answered questions about possible M&A.
We recapped the panel in our write-up from the summit.
Masergy
Masergy, the Plano, Texas-based hybrid networking provider, was a platinum sponsor of the event. Masergy recently announced a new UCaaS communications hub and unveiled a managed SD-WAN service in May. The company also touts its software-defined platform and managed security.
Networking Panel
Sandler Partners invited a host of SD-WAN and networking providers on stage to take part in a lightning round. Eric Beller, senior vice president of sales, rattled off a long list of yes-or-no product questions, and the representatives raised their company logo if they checked the box on specific product features.
Comcast, T-Mobile, QoS Consulting, GeoLinks, New Business Development, Telstra, SolEx, Cox Communications, Windstream and Birch all squeezed onto the stage.
Effortless
Effortless Office was a gold sponsor of the event. Effortless offers a cloud-based suite for security, desktop, recovery, email, Wi-Fi and servers. The Las Vegas-based company expanded its channel team in a big way last month, adding three national channel managers.
Security Compliance Panel
Three experts shared what partners need to do to navigate compliance measures and legal liabilities that surround cybersecurity. Telecom/IT lawyer Charles Carr moderated a panel featuring Danny Pehar, president of Cyber Insurance Education; Dominique Shelton, partner at Alston & Bird; and Boeing Shih, special agent in the FBI Los Angeles Cyber Crime Task Force.
Crown Plaza
Sandler Partners hosted the invite-only agent event at the Crown Plaza Redondo Beach and Marina. The hotel is just a few blocks away from the Pacific Ocean, and attendees coming from out of state got to enjoy a rare walk on the beach.
World Series
Game two of the World Series had already started by the time evening festivities got underway. Plenty of attendees went to the bar to steal a glance at the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros. If you took a walk outside, you could easily hear the groaning of Los Angeles fans as Houston closed out a dramatic victory in the 11th inning.
