Readers of The VAR Guy know that cloud storage is a market that’s accelerating in the IT channel. To that end, i365, a Seagate subsidiary, is launching enhancements to their partner program designed to lower the bar for entry and increase incentives for VARs. Here’s the scoop.

i365 already has a three-tier partner program for resellers of its flagship EVault hybrid cloud/on-premise storage solution, with the ability for upper-level partners to get recurring revenue as well as the initial referral fee. But new to the program with this announcement, as per i365’s press release:

  • Increased deal registration discount

  • “Attractive” loyalty incentive rebates

  • MDF Program focusing on partner profitability.

  • More sales and marketing tools for partners

  • Training on the EVault backup and recovery platforms.

The company says that this partner program expansion is part of the lead-up to i365’s Project Cloudburst channel-focused cloud storage initiative, due to launch later this year. It makes perfect sense – one major goal of Project Cloudburst is to help i365 (and by extension Seagate) reach new markets, and getting new VARs on board and trained in EVault now will save time later.
