A pair of major tech distributors have new offers for HP resellers.

Tech Data said on Thursday that it will offer warranty-attach services to solution providers so they can quickly locate and seamlessly select the warranty that best fits HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) hardware purchases.

“Tech Data’s Warranty Attach Plus offers an intelligent solution VARs require when adding warranty protection programs to their hardware purchases,” said Heather Murray, vice president, product marketing, at Tech Data. “With this added service, solution providers can now offer their customers an accurate, dependable and cost-effective way to protect their HP and HPE purchases.”

These services incorporate automated, real-time activation of HP and HPE Care Packs, working with the vendor to check serial numbers, hardware and warranty registration – the goal being greater accuracy during the ordering process. When adding HP and HPE Care Packs to an order, the process is streamlined through Tech Data, both in retail and commercial lines of business. Partners can also ship the products from Tech Data directly to the end user with the attached protection plan, the distributor said.

“With only a few clicks on their website, Tech Data has streamlined the Care Pack selection process to supplement warranties, enabling partners to develop long-term relationships with our mutual customers while protecting their IT investments,” said Thomas Jensen, vice president of worldwide channel sales and strategy at HP.

Meantime, Avnet is now stocking select build-to-order (BTW) servers from HPE. The distributor says its U.S. partners will now have stronger capabilities to meet the growing need for ready-to-ship server solutions.

When combined with Avnet’s configure-to-order (CTO) capabilities, the company says partners will now have a single source for all their HPE service needs. Doing business will be easier, there will be more specific partner and end-user opportunities, increased outbound sales efforts, and access to Avnet’s BTO, CTO and Smart Buy programs – whether their sales opportunities are simple or complex, the distributor added.

Avnet’s HPE servers and blades include the ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Server, as well as the DL380 and the BL460c.

“Avnet’s new full-distribution of these HPE offerings provides our channel partners with a single stop for all their HPE purchasing needs,” said Greg Peterson, vice president of Avnet’s HPE solutions business in the Americas.

Avnet’s inventory of HPE servers and blades will be stored and shipped from its Global Solutions Center in Chandler, Arizona.
