GFI Max is hosting a managed services provider (MSP) conference today in New Orleans. Next up, GFI Max General Manager Alistair Forbes and his team will hit the road and host conferences in Australia, the United Kingdom and Germany. Of those destinations Germany is particularly interesting. In fact, it could be the next really big MSP market. Here’s why.Although the US market remains GFI’s fastest-growing region, Forbes says Germany is especially strong because the economy there has held up well and there’s a healthy base of mid-size businesses that need IT services.
Those thoughts echo comments from Autotask CEO Mark Cattini, who told MSPmentor earlier this year that Germany was an especially healthy market — where somewhat larger MSPs were rapidly embracing business management (PSA, professional services automation) and RMM (remote monitoring and management) software.
Autotask localized its cloud software for several international markets earlier this year, and the company has expanded its UK footprint to roughly 40 employees, Senior VP Len DiCostanzo mentioned to me yesterday.
Anecdotal evidence also suggests South Africa is a fast-growing MSP market. Kaseya led the charge into that country, and rival MSP software providers have since marched into that market as well.
But the MSP buzz about Germany has me intrigued. Perhaps I’ll need to make a personal visit to see the trend up close…
