U4EA Releases SMB Wi-Fi Solution

U4EA Technologies has announced the Fusion 300 Wireless LAN Controller and Fusion 50 Access Points (AP), a centrally managed Wi-Fi solution designed specifically for the SMB segment. The Fusion 300 is optimized for environments with limited in-house IT or wireless expertise, enabling SMBs to have a secure wireless network with enterprise-class functionality up-and-running in less than 15 minutes, said the company. The Fusion 300 and 50 are now available through U4EA’s partner distribution network, which includes service providers, distributors, VARs and resellers serving the SMB and SME market.

The U4EA Fusion 300 WLAN offers an automated configuration process. The administrator assigns an IP address to the controller, a name to the wireless network, and some simple security parameters to activate a secure network. The rest of the configuration, including security and channel selection, is handled automatically. Anything that isn’t automatic is template-driven.

The Fusion 300 controller is technology-agnostic, as well as 802.11n-ready. It also provides seamless controller scalability – supporting environments as small as a few users and two APs to as large as 250 users and 25 APs.

The Fusion 300 wireless gateway also enables SMBs to deploy secure networks without the burden of running separate authentication servers or other complicated network devices. The Fusion 300 offers built-in RADIUS and captive portal functionality, 802.1x authentication, separate guest networks and prioritized traffic.

And finally, the product provides toll-quality voice and seamless roaming, supporting up to 60 toll-quality calls on a single access point, and enabling clients to roam freely, even across switch and router boundaries, and irrespective of the subnet to which the AP is attached.

When deployed with the U4EA Fusion Multi-service Business Gateway (MSBG), the Fusion 300 WLAN Controller provides a comprehensive Fixed Mobile Convergence solution for voice, video and data. The Fusion 300 can also be deployed as a standalone solution, integrating seamlessly into any SMB LAN.
