Vembu Technologies, a storage software specialist, is taking steps to more aggressively engage managed services providers. The latest example: Vembu’s StoreGrid Service Provider Edition is now integrated with Autotask, the PSA (professional services automation) platform. Here’s a closer look at how Vembu has been evolving over the past two years or so.

Vembu helps MSPs to build cloud storage and managed storage solutions. Vembu’s StoreGrid Service Provider Edition is a brandable, online backup backup software pplatform that provides backup support for over 2,000 MSPs and Hosting Providers. The Autotask integration will capture StoreGrid’s monitoring alerts and convert them into service tickets. The service tickets will then be handled by Autotask’s work engine, so even when StoneGrid suffers a backup failure, Autotask will jump in and create a service ticket so that the failure will be serviced properly and timely, the companies say.

Vembu also offers the following three services designed for different types of backup needs:

  1. Vembu Pro: An online backup service that is hosted in the Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud infrastructure. It’s only available through Vembu’s MSPs, VARs and resellers.

  2. StoreGrid Pro: A hybrid backup solution for SMBs with remote offices, as well as the education vertical (schools, colleges).

  3. Vembu Home: A portfolio of cloud storage services for consumers that features, among other solutions, cloud backup, file synchronization, file sharing, mobile backups

A free trail of each service is available on the Vembu site. Pricing varies according to data backup needs.

No doubt, Vembu faces fierce competition in the market for managed storage services. Cloud storage providers and on-premise software developers promote a range of solutions to MSPs. Can Vembu stand out from the crowd? Continued integrations with more and more PSA and RMM (remote monitoring and management) software providers is a step in the right direction.
