Virgo Names Billing World Editor

Virgo Publishing LLC said Monday it has named veteran telecom industry journalist Tim McElligott as editor in chief of Billing & OSS World magazine.

McElligott comes to the company after nine years covering billing and OSS, software, testing, signaling and IP-based telephony as senior editor for Telephony magazine. He also was editor of Telephonys Independent, a print magazine chronicling the rural telecom market. His career includes 14 years in the telecom service provider sector where his duties ranged from central office technician to wireless network engineer.

In his new post at Virgo Publishing, McElligott is charged with content development for Billing & OSS World magazine, the www.billingworld.com Web site, weekly electronic newsletters, Webinars and eBooks, as well as the annual Billing & OSS World Conference & Expo tradeshow.

McElligott will be part of the editorial strategy team for Virgos Telecom Division, which includes xchange, PHONE+ and New Telephony magazines and the Channel Partners Conference & Expo. Virgo acquired the Billing & OSS World properties from TeleStrategies in September 2007.
