Westcon-Comstor has named Ken Bast as its latest global channel chief, responsible for helping the company to bring its portfolio of security, collaboration, cloud and data center services to new customers.
Bast, who’s official title is executive vice president of Global Partner Management, will also work to improve the distributor’s vendor and customer relationships across all markets. He will assume the role of channel chief effective immediately.
“Westcon-Comstor’s global reach is an unparalleled differentiator for vendors and partners serving end-users across the globe. That solid foundation, coupled with a global and strategic approach to manage our most important partnerships, makes this an exciting next step in my career,” said Bast, in a statement. “I look forward to bringing our focused partner management model to the next level.”
Bast is a relative newcomer to Westcon, after joining the company in August as senior vice president of Global Partner Management. Bast was primarily responsible for managing Constor’s global relationship with Cisco Systems (CSCO) during this time, according to the announcement.
Bast has more than 15 years of experience working in channel leadership positions, and has run his own IT channel-consulting business in addition to serving in several leadership roles at Ingram Micro (IM).
“I am very pleased to attract the talent that Ken represents,” said Dolph Westerbos, CEO of Westcon-Comstor. “As we are building the IT distribution company of the future, investing significantly in our tools and creating new capabilities in cloud and services, Westcon-Comstor, and our partners, will benefit greatly from Ken’s experience and leadership to help complete that journey.”
