PAETEC Offers Data Backup, Hosting Services
PAETEC Holding Corp. has announced the availability of its data backup and recovery, dedicated server and Web hosting platforms for sale by agents along with PAETECs MPLS VPN, SIP trunk and network firewall services. The data backup service copies data to two data centers over a customers Internet connection. Data can be restored on-demand from a Web-based control console. The companys dedicated servers are housed in a PAETEC owned and operated data center with generator and battery-backed power, network access and power grids, and 24/7 monitoring and staffing. All Web hosting packages include disk space, data transfer, an exclusive domain name and e-mail/Web-mail capabilities. www.paetec.com
Panasonic Add-In USB Software Integrates Desk Phones With Outlook
Panasonic released Add-In USB software for its KX-TDA IP-enabled PBX phone systems to allow users to make calls from their Outlook contacts lists, answer incoming calls, place calls on hold, and schedule and define rules for forwarding calls, all with a click from the PC. The Add-In USB software resides in an Outlook toolbar, which can be customized to user preferences. Intelliverse Provides Nomadic E911 Support

ISPhone Releases Asterisk Connector for Service Providers
ISPhone introduced Asterisk Connector, a plug-in that allows Asterisk to operate with software that uses the RADIUS protocol. When Asterisk Connector is installed on an Asterisk server, it provides a bridge between Asterisk and any RADIUSbased system. If a customer uses VoIP-PRO, ISPhones authentication, and authorization and accounting program for service providers, adding Asterisk Connector to the system is an easy plug-in. snom Releases Phone Featuring VPN Security
snom technology AG recently launched its IP business phone, the snom 370, and is now shipping through authorized distributors. The snom 370 acts as a VPN client, enabling encrypted tunnels for all voice traffic between the snom phones and the company IP PBX. All snom phones are compatible with SIP-based telephone systems and system components, including open-source platforms and proprietary solutions. The snom 370 is $299. www.snom.com
TNCI Adds Covad Bonded T1 Services
TNCI has expanded its data products portfolio to include Covad Communication Groups Bonded T1 and Covad ADSL2+.
Covad Bonded T1 Service combines two industry standard DS1 loops bonded together using ML-PPP for 3mbps of symmetrical speed. The Covad ADSL2+ also offers up to 15mbps of DSL bandwidth. Smoothstone Unveils Web-based Meeting Center
Smoothstone IP Communications, a provider of managed enterprise IP communications, has unveiled a new service called Smoothstone Meeting Center a Web-based real-time collaboration tool that allows users to communicate and collaborate with anyone over the Internet, regardless of physical location. The tool enables anyone to make multimedia presentations; share files, documents and applications; share a white board; chat and take collective notes; poll the meeting participants; and make presentations to any size group without the need for special hardware, software or administrators.

Aastra Brings DECT Mobility Solution to United States
Aastra Telecom is making the SIPbased Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) wireless solution available in the United States. SIP-DECT allows SMBs, multilocation enterprises or large campus environments to deploy an onsite wireless voice network. It is comprised of DECT handsets and IP DECT access points managed by OpenMobility Manager (OMM) software and provisioned on a SIP-based infrastructure as simple SIP extensions. The system utilizes the 1920MHz 930MHz unlicensed PCS (UPCS) spectrum that has recently been approved for use by the FCC.
