Zoho, a business, collaboration and productivity applications provider, has updated its Assist remote support app to include support for it’s browser-based technician console on additional platforms and other new features.

The company said Zoho Assist now includes completely rewritten software and new servers to add value to a cloud services provider’s (CSP’s) remote support business.

Zoho Assist helps IT technicians, managed service providers (MSPs) and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) deliver seamless remote support, according to the company.

The app’s new features include:

  • Browser-based HTML5 technician console in Mac and Linux

  • File transfer window

  • “Help Me” tab for live support

“Zoho Assist makes an IT technician’s job absolutely delight[ful] by making sessions strikingly faster and letting customers join in a jiffy. It offers premium features at no cost,” the company wrote in a blog post.

A new iPad app also is available for Zoho Assist that allows users to:

  • Ask IT technicians for assistance

  • Capture screenshots of a remote computer

  • Switch between multiple monitors

  • Take control of a remote computer

Zoho said the iPad app is designed for urgent requests and is available for download here.
