Acer sometime today is expected to announce a so-called K-12 Seed Unit Program. The effort, which leverages Acer solutions providers, includes such prizes as a school computer lab and a truckload of Netbooks, The VAR Guy has heard. Here’s the scoop.
According to an Acer spokeswoman:
“The school or school district which wins the grand prize computer will receive 30 Aspire® OA150-1126 netbooks; 30 Veriton® L460-ED5200C Desktops; and 30 Acer 17” V Series LCDs. VARs who sign up an approved school or school district will automatically be entered into a drawing to win the grand prize of airfare and a luxury vacation for two at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas or one of three runner-up prizes consisting of a powerful Acer Predator gaming desktop and LCD.”
NetBooks are sweet. But The VAR Guy is typing this blog entry from Canada… and a trip to the Bahamas sounds pretty tempting right about now.
Interested K-12 schools should visit www.acer.com/us/k12 for more information. Acer solutions providers should check in with the computer company for more information.
