Data storage provider Caringo Inc. has appointed Oliver Biewald as its vice president of worldwide sales.
Biewald brings two decades of management experience servicing national, international and global accounts to Caringo. He joins Caringo during a time of rapid expansion as the company seeks to meet the needs of enterprises requiring an elegant storage solution that can cost-effectively scale-out from terabytes to petabytes. Biewald is tasked with expanding the reach of Caringo’s object-based storage technology as the company delivers its CAStor 5.0 software to the world market. He reports to Caringo CEO and co-founder Mark Goros.
Biewald comes to Caringo from Seven10 Storage Software, developers of enterprise archiving and disaster recovery software, where he served as VP of Strategic Sales Worldwide. There he was responsible for planning, designing and executing the company’s channel strategy throughout the North American, EMEA and Asia-Pacific marketplaces, while also managing the resulting multi-geographic business relationships with EMC, Dell, Fujitsu, Bull, Arrow, Avnet, Tech Data, TIM, ADIVA, and DataStore.
Olivers successful track record of driving international sales at leading storage companies made him the ideal candidate for Caringo,” said Goros. CAStor is poised for explosive growth worldwide as companies look to object storage and cloud-based solutions for a less complex way to handle content storage from creation to expiration. We are confident that Oliver is the right person to propel CAStor to a new generation of global customers.”
Caringo calls CAStor innovative software that enables object-based storage clusters to be implemented using standard x86-based server hardware by virtualizing disk capacity into a single pool of storage. CAStor scales seamlessly and flexibly to meet dynamic capacity demands. CAStor clusters are self-managing and self-healing, minimizing operational costsand include all the capabilities required for the long-term preservation of digital assets and archiving of datafor compliance.
