Dell and Symantec continue to build a closer working relationship. The latest example involves Dell and Symantec connecting the dots between the Dell DX Object Storage Solution and Symantec Enterprise Vault 9.0. Here are some quick details.

Symantec Enterprise Vault 9.0 has been officially certified and integrated into the Dell DX Object Storage Solution, offering partners and customers a pre-integrated data archiving solution.

Dell’s DX Object Storage solution works via an automated policy platform, and can scale into the petabytes with no “forklift upgrades.” Dell says you can reduce management by up to 50% with the new system.

Dell and Symantec see this as a strengthening of their “long-standing” relationship. The two companies have also partnered on a Dell Management Console, powered by Symantec.

The tighter Dell-Symantec relationship also arrives as Intel acquires McAfee, potentially setting the stage for more security capabilities embedded directly into hardware.
