Groundbreaking IT Sales and Marketing Lessons You Can Learn from Football

Are you tired of settling for mere field goals when you’re looking to score touchdowns? Ulistic recently announced our theme for 2015: football. If you’re not a sports fan, you should at least tune into a game every now and then. Why? Because believe it or not, when you’re running an MSP firm, there’s a lot of great lessons to learn from watching a football game:

1. Stick to the game plan

So you’re looking to succeed in the world of managed services? At the end of the day, it all boils down to scoring points: how many prospects are you turning into clients? If you’re looking to score more points, you’re going to need a great game plan – and you’re going to need to stick to it. Don’t have a plan? Check out Ulistic's 17 step sales and marketing process.

2. Listen to your coach

We’ve seen it time and time again: an MSP firm hires a marketing coach, but when it comes down to it, they want to handle their marketing on their own. Instead of trying to take over, listen to your coach. After all, you’ve hired them for a reason! Trust them to guide you towards stratospheric success!

3. Have a strong offense

Your offense is the way you choose to proactively improve your business and plan for a desired outcome, then work continuously towards that outcome. So what’s the desired outcome? You guessed it: More leads. How do you work towards that? You have to become an industry leader, attend important conferences, stay active on social media, and get to know the industries you’re targeting.

4. Keep your fans happy:

Think of attending a football game: you’re remembering the entire experience (how long you’re waiting in line, the cleanliness of the restrooms, etc.), not just the outcome of the game. How quickly are you answering the phone? Are your staff members friendly and personable? Keep your clients happy and they’ll become raving fans – offering referrals and getting your MSP firm MORE business.

So there it is! You haven’t been wasting your time watching football games; you’ve actually been studying to grow your MSP firm! Only 1 in 100 IT firms think marketing first, but 100 out of 100 want more leads. Ulistic is your coach in driving your IT sales and marketing to the end zone and achieving stratospheric success.
