My Digital Shield (MDS) has added a longtime channel veteran to its team.

The security-as-a-service (SECaaS) provider has named Stuart Selbst, who boasts more than 25 years of channel experience, as its vice president of Channel Sales.

MDS said Selbst will be responsible for overseeing marketing and sales operations, strengthening MDS’s partner network and helping further its presence throughout the channel.

“We are thrilled to have Stu join the team and remain confident that his unparalleled channel experience will play a significant role in helping us accelerate MDS’s expansion among industry partners,” MDS CEO Andrew Bagrin said in a prepared statement. “As cybersecurity continues to gain widespread attention, Stu will leverage his experience to educate partners on the importance of security for the small-business market along with predictions on what their return on investment will yield.”

Selbst most recently served as managing partner at Stuart Selbst Consulting, which offers business coaching and consulting across the technology industry.

He also was included in MSPMentor’s Top 250 Most Influential Industry Executives list from 2009 to 2012 and The VAR Guy’s Top 50 Channel Influencers list this year.

Selbst said he plans to leverage his channel expertise to help MDS “better educate the reseller community on its offering and help IT service providers strengthen their services portfolios with the addition of MDS’s small-business cybersecurity platform.”

In addition, MDS noted that it will continue to find new ways to support its partners.

“Our efforts are centered around empowering our partners and having them feel supported and ‘powered by MDS,'” an MDS spokesperson told MSPmentor. “Our partners should expect to see continuous growth, involvement and product enhancements to come over the next few months.”
