Autotask today announced the release of a new ticket interface for its remote monitoring and management platform.
The new version goes well beyond cosmetic changes and is the result of extensive research, company officials said.
Release of the new ticketing interface was announced nearly a year ago, during Autotask Connections Live last September.
“This is the most highly anticipated and well-validated project we’ve completed for customers and we’re very excited to make it available to them,” Patrick Burns, vice president of product management, said in a statement.
“We have added substantial new capabilities to enhance the ticketing experience and have focused on human-centered presentation of data and configurability to automate business processes,” he added. “The ability to customize the appearance and behavior of tickets based on use case will help our customers improve service delivery while increasing staff productivity.”
Masergy adds managed EDR: Managed security and networking vendor Masergy has launched a managed endpoint detection and response (MEDR) service, enabling managed services providers (MSPs) to offer a sophisticated EDR solution.
The service is billed as a way for MSPs to go beyond protection-focused technologies to an integrated suite of detection and response resources, including machine-learning analytics, staff security analysts, around the clock alert monitoring and regular threat hunting.
“EDR solutions are extremely valuable yet costly and difficult to use,” the company said. “Masergy’s managed service overcomes these challenges for companies – offering leading-edge EDR technology integrated within its Unified Enterprise Security Managed Detection and Response Platform, in an affordable, consumption-based pricing model.”
Masergy will host a live webcast to discuss the new service at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (Eastern Time) Aug. 22.
New Kaseya Traverse soon: Kaseya this month announced the upcoming release of its newest version of the Traverse remote monitoring and management solution.
Traverse 9.5, which will be available sometime in Q3, features new mobile features, more comprehensive visibility and improved visualization.
The tool also allows for automated application of monitoring policies to new devices during discovery, reducing the need for manual configuration.
New features are said to reduce the time for onboarding customers by 90 percent.
Continuum partners with Bluechip Infotech: Continuum Managed Services has inked a deal with distributor Bluechip Infotech, the toolset maker’s first distribution deal anywhere, according to CRN.
The move comes two months after Continuum was acquired by private equity firm Thoma Bravo.
Partnership with Australia-based Bluechip Infotech gives Continuum an immediate presence in that country, just as the distributor is trying to get a foothold in the MSP market.
“This comes at a very good time,” Johnson Hsuing, managing director at Bluechip Infotech, told CRN.
“For the past 18 months we’ve been focused on signing up more MSP partners, especially in the medium and small range,” he went on. “I believe there would be roughly 3,000 MSPs in this market, depending on who you talk to.”
Webroot buys security awareness training firm: Webroot today announced it has acquired the assets of Securecast, a security awareness-training platform.
Along with news of the purchase, Webroot unveiled its new Webroot Security Awareness Training, designed to help MSPs offer end-user education on phishing, ransomware and other cyber threats.
“The human factor is a consistent weakness in overall cyber defenses and security awareness training is the only solution” said Chad Bacher, senior vice president of product strategy and technology alliances at Webroot. “Building on Securecast, Webroot will offer our MSP partners the security awareness training they need to address this evolving threat landscape and build a profitable new line of business.”
