SinglePipe Communications Inc. (Booth 521-523), a facilities-based wholesale VoIP provider to CLECs, ISPs, independent cable operators and other service providers, has made several executive and board member changes. Matthew J. Phillips now serves as CEO. Phillips has 14 years in telecom, including his tenure as SinglePipes COO. Phillips returned to SinglePipe from Level 3 Communications Inc., where he was a regional vice president.

He also has founded two telecom ventures and worked for ACSI Technologies and Global Metro Networks. Meanwhile, SinglePipes former CEO, Carlos Doc Carpenter, has become executive vice president of corporate development. Hes been in telecom for more than 20 years and founded three start-ups (in addition to SinglePipe, launched last year).

The changes have placed both Doc and Matt in their respective elements, doing what they do best, said George Tronsrue, SinglePipes new board chairman. Tronsrue is one of two new SinglePipe board members. S. Andrew McKay is the other.

Tronsrue is co-founder, president and manager of the Jericho Fund LLC, an early-stage investor. He also is a former president and COO of XO Communications.

McKay is CEO of bCatalyst Advisors, a firm that provides M&A and brokerage services. Tronsrue and McKays combined experience will contribute greatly to our success as SinglePipe moves into the next phase of growth, said Phillips.
