US Signal (Booth 211) has added MPLS VPN to its portfolio for sale through the companys channel partners.

The VPN service is based on MPLS technology, which provides any-to-any connectivity, security and QoS among geographically diverse sites. The service now is available throughout US Signals Midwestern footprint in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.

MPLS VPN gives customers the flexibility to select a network design that mirrors their traffic patterns, so remote sites can communicate directly with each other or through a host site, depending on individual requirements.
MPLS technology ensures customer data remains secure. QoS can be added to prioritize critical traffic such as voice and video over less demanding traffic such as e-mail and Web surfing.

The introduction of this product continues the US Signal tradition of responding to customer demand by creating products and services that are customer-focused, technically advanced and competitively priced, said Steve Oyer, executive vice president of sales and marketing.

US Signal worked with Cisco Systems Inc. to build the MPLS network on its existing SONET and DWDM backbone, which connects 14 Midwestern markets with nearly 3,000 route miles of long-haul fiber and more than 600 miles of metro fiber.
