The VAR Guy is keeping a close eye on Vartopia, some sort of multi-vendor deal registration web site. Vartopia’s founders appear set to disclose their plans sometime today at VMware Partner Exchange, a massive partner conference this week in Las Vegas. Here are the early details.According to Vartopia‘s web site:
“Come to Vartopia, the destination for opportunity registration. Now you can submit and manage all of your registrations under a single umbrella. So sit back, relax and watch the profits roll in, because opportunity registration just got a whole lot easier.”
Hmmm… That description almost sounds too good to be true. But it looks like Vartopia will launch some sort of central deal registration site that allows VARs to manage multiple engagements with a range of vendors — from Dell to VMware.
Also of note: Vartopia‘s leaders claim to be seasoned channel executives.
Automating Engagements
Plenty of folks are trying to help VARs find and automate more customer engagements. OnForce continues to promote an online marketplace for solutions providers. The ASCII Group is building a solution provider locator tool to help end-customers quickly find IT consulting firms. Partnerpedia is striving to help solutions providers and channel chiefs work more closely with one another.
And now, Vartopia seems to be building some sort of central deal registration system that spans multiple IT vendors. Our resident blogger will share more details — and more perspectives — once Vartopia pulls back its curtain a bit more.
