Channel Partners is hosting its second Women in the Channel Networking Mixer at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo, 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, in room CC10 at the Hyatt Conference Center in Chicago.
The cocktail-hour event, co-sponsored by AT&T, ACC Business and TelePacific, will be devoted to networking among women in the channel. Both free-form, one-on-one conversations and moderated roundtable conversations will be part of the agenda.
In addition, special guest Nancy Ridge, vice president for master agency Telcombrokers, will be on hand to let attendees know how they can get involved with the newly formed Women in the Channel group.
Roundtable moderators include some of the channels leading women, including Karin Fields, Vice President, Sales, MicroCorp; Bita Milanian, Founder and President, Butterfly Buzz LLC; Laura Bernstein, President, CRA Inc.; Anne Brogan, Agent Program Manager, Nitel; Hilary Gadda, Director, Telepartner Channel, TelePacific Communications; Heather K. Margolis, President, Channel Maven Consulting; Kimberly Smith, Director, Alliance Channel Marketing, AT&T; and Sandra Butler Buchanon, National Sales Director, AT&T, ACC Business.
In an advance poll publicized on LinkedIn, many of the participants at the event chose the featured roundtable topics, including:
How to balance work-life
How to start and grow a business
How to manage your time
How to manage stress
How to manage male-dominated teams
How to cope with and manage condescending behavior from male peers and superiors
How to develop new skills
How to initiate change in your workplace
The event also will include live Text2Vote polling to determine potential next steps for Channel Partners and Women in the Channel programming for 2012.
