If you’re a Dell VAR looking for an edge, Dell may have just given you one. It’s the brand new Dell trade-in program, which is specifically targeting current (or soon-to-be-former) EMC and NetApp customers. What’s the storage jazz all about? I’ll tell you …

If you didn’t already know, Dell has been big on evolving its storage portfolio and pushing its Fluid Data architecture. This new trade-in program represents an extension of Dell’s aggressive strategy going forward — just take a look at its recent SonicWall acquisition news. So how does it work? Dell can offer customers financing on the latest and greatest Dell storage technology, all while providing “cash credits and attractive lease terms” if you give Dell one of the following legacy storage systems:

  • EMC CLARiiON CX

  • Celerra

  • VNX

  • NetApp FAS arrays

The whole program kicks off on July 31, 2012, and the best part is, Dell partners and resellers can take full advantage of the program, with complete financing and transitional support for customers. If you’re into “green IT,” Dell has also put an environmental spin on the whole program, promising “responsible” recycling of the old storage equipment.

If you’re curious about how Dell storage can work for you, be sure to check out Dell’s Fluid Data moves, plus its ongoing quest to provide end-to-end solutions in the data center. And don’t forget, Dell’s next (and third) storage forum is slated to be held June 10-13, 2012, in Boston.
