Google Cloud said its global partners have an opportunity to create new value with AI technologies like Duet AI and Vertex AI, in critical areas such as data modernization and cloud migrations, and to augment their own products and platforms with Google Cloud Gen AI.
As such, it is increasing the incentives and rewards available for partners to help partners address the opportunity. It is doubling rewards for services partners who drive more workload adoption and accelerate adoption of strategic products.
It also plans to increase funding by as much as 10X for both ISV and systems integrator partners to implement gen AI.
Google Cloud is adding a new cohort of partners to its Generative AI Partner Initiative, which helps Build and Service partners more quickly implement Google Cloud’s Gen AI capabilities.
The partners include AI21 Labs, Automation Anywhere, BCG, Behavox, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, Elemental Cognition, HCL, TCS, Wipro and Zeotap. Through the Gen AI Partner Initiative, they will have access to resources such as Gen AI journey maps and badging, and accelerated go-to-market tracks.
Google Cloud has also updated some of its initiatives, tools, and resources for partners.
The Google Workspace Sandbox Toolkit now includes Duet AI at no cost to partners. This means partners can more quickly help customers understand the benefits and capabilities of Duet AI while accelerating their sales cycles, said the company.
The company is also increasing the number of new partners who have earned its Google Cloud Ready – Sustainability designation. This recognizes partners whose solutions help customers meet their ESG goals.
For example, ESG Book is now enabling customers to access its ESG data management and disclosure platform on Google Cloud. Meanwhile, Snowfox.ai is providing customers with climate insights about their supply chains through its AI-based emissions management tool.
Google Cloud is launching a new Partner Expertise designation: Google SecOps Services Delivery Expertise. This expertise is for service provider partners who have demonstrated success implementing and onboarding customers to Google Cloud’s Chronicle SIEM or SOAR solution.
“We’re also using things like badging so that it helps partners represent themselves and customers find the right partners with deep domain knowledge,” said Hastings.
The company is also expanding the tools available to partners through the Delivery Readiness Index (DRI). DRI helps partners identify the resources and skills they need to complete any given customers’ project.
Google Cloud is adding more Gen AI learning courses and tools to DRI, including a new course, “Implementing Generative AI with Vertex AI.” It now offers partners more than 45 Challenge Labs and more than 160 training courses, available through their DRI profiles.
Elsewhere, Google Cloud Crayon is launching a new Google Cloud AI Center of Excellence.
Operating in 46 countries, the move aims to deepen Crayon’s expertise on Google AI and generative AI through the company’s Centers of Excellence in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Nordics.
“We are excited about expanding our partnership with Google Cloud and the business value that we will create,” said Crayon CEO Melissa Mulholland (pictured).
Crayon said there has been “unprecedented demand from customers asking for help in understanding how to best leverage generative AI.”
“Our customers and partners increasingly see the need for using generative AI to provide better services and solutions,” said Mulholland. “With our AI Centers of Excellence, we have the capabilities to help companies explore their own data and use it to accelerate their business.”
Finally, Weaviate is bringing its open-source, AI-Native vector database to Google Cloud Marketplace. This will help developers quickly deploy and scale the platform and begin building new generative AI apps.

GOOGLE CLOUD NEXT LONDON — Google Cloud’s focus on generative AI continues. The public cloud provider just announced that it’s ramping up funding to partners that implement generative AI and other strategic products.
Google Cloud is increasing funding by as much as 10X for both ISV and systems integrator partners offering generative AI.
Google’s Bron Hastings
“A number of customers want to understand [how can they] benefit from generative AI,” said Bron Hastings, VP, partnerships at Google Cloud. “The second part of it is that a number of partners are already building solutions that they can actually demonstrate to the customers where generative AI makes a material difference. Different customers are in different stages of their journey, but the partners are ensuring that we’re meeting the customer where they are.”
Google Cloud also is doubling rewards for services partners who drive more workload adoption and accelerate adoption of strategic products.
The announcements were made Wednesday at Next London 23 in London. They form part of a raft of updates to Google Cloud’s partner program across Google Workspace, Sustainability, SecOps, and its Delivery Readiness Index.
Google Cloud Generative AI Opportunities
A host of new partnerships were also revealed, including with Crayon, which is launching a Google Cloud AI Center of Excellence.
“We’ve made very public statements about being 100% a partner attach-with-engagements. That continues to be a substantive part of our business. We see several ongoing opportunities for partners for growth,” said Hastings.
Speaking to Channel Futures, Hastings said customers want help to realize the value of the technology they have bought. They also want deep domain specialization around areas like data and analytics, infrastructure, modernization and cybersecurity. And there is an opportunity in areas like Google Workspace, where technologies such as Duet AI are becoming part of the value customers are seeking.
“We’ve really looked at specialization as being a key element of what partners are serving the customer,” said Hastings. “We are increasing net-new logo incentives for partners that are helping us expand the business across both Workspace and Google Cloud. The second area is we’re significantly growing our presales funding …. so we are significantly growing that for workshops, proof of concepts, pilots, etc. The third area is doubling down on rewards for service partners that are driving the Workload. The way to think about this is time to value for the customer, which in parallel drives revenue acceleration. We’re really looking at partnerships where they are bringing that to the table. Their domain knowledge, their strength, are helping us drive that workload move, and that time to value at the customer level.”
