Tech Data (TECD) appointed company veteran Stacy Nethercoat as vice president of its TDCloud division, responsible for leading the strategic direction, operations and go-to-market execution of the distributor’s cloud services business.
In her new role, Nethercoat will be tasked with driving the continued success of the TDCloud division and helping Tech Data provide dedicated resources and leadership to its cloud customers, according to the announcement. Nethercoat will continue to report to Brian Davis, senior vice president of U.S. Marketing.
"Cloud computing continues to be a strategic focus for Tech Data throughout the company's operations," said Davis in a statement. "Since the inception of TDCloud, Stacy's leadership and vision have proven invaluable in the growth and development of our cloud business. Our new dedicated sales, reseller enablement, field marketing, and operations resources, as well as our new organizational structure, solidifies our commitment to growth in cloud computing and better aligns us with this important part of our company's strategy."
Nethercoat has worked for Tech Data for 19 years, during which time she helped foster the strategic development and delivery of the company’s end-to-end cloud solutions and played a crucial role in the recruitment of new vendor partners to TDCloud, according to the company. She has been responsible for leading Tech Data’s U.S. cloud strategy since the TDCloud division formed in 2011.
Tech Data’s decision to put one of its senior-most executives in charge of the company’s cloud division is a sure sign that the distributor is looking to make a major impression in the expansive cloud sphere. Tech Data no doubt is looking at Nethercoat’s prior experience with cloud computing to help it gain a leg-up on the competition and encourage more vendor partners to invest in the distributor’s cloud portfolio.
"We have seen significant growth in our cloud business and look forward to adding more value and providing more opportunities for our channel partners in the cloud through our new dedicated resources," said Nethercoat. "As cloud adoption accelerates, we are prepared to provide the most comprehensive cloud solutions in the IT channel through the company's Solutions Store, powered by StreamOne, our award-winning global IT platform. I am excited to take on this new role and to continue to expand our cloud business at Tech Data."
