How Cloud Can Resolve Storage Problems Associated With the Internet of Things
The Internet of things (IoT) is over-hyped, but considered to promise real business value. According to a recent CompTIA survey, “Sizing Up the Internet of Things,” 51 percent of IT executives believe IoT opportunities justify the hype with 48 percent believing there’s more hype than substance right now.
Both are correct, of course. We’re in the midst of a ramp up of IoT hype and while there have been significant business opportunity already scooped up by those in a position to do so, the hype is also high. It’s the beginning of a technology trend, after all. Rising hype is to be expected.

The research, titled “October 2014 Netskope Cloud Report,” also showed that nearly 89 percent of cloud apps are not “enterprise-ready,” and more than one-third of all data leakage policy violations occur on smartphones and tablets.
Abstraction Layers Simplify Hybrid Cloud Computing
Almost by definition solution providers are going to be regularly dealing with hybrid cloud computing environments that typically expose different application programing interfaces (APIs) that need to be mastered. In fact, a recent study from CompTIA suggests that customers are already moving workloads not only in an out of clouds, but also between them at a fairly rapid rate.
