Network security provider Cato Networks has unveiled Cato Cloud, a managed services alternative to traditional network security solutions. Cato Cloud serves as a network security-as-a-service (NSaaS) platform and allows IT administrators to virtualize their security for use across an entire network, Cato Networks said.
Avaya has launched midmarket solutions designed to address the unified communications (UC) and cloud contact center needs of midsize businesses. The company said its new offerings are available in two deployment options, including the Partner Powered by Avaya Office solution and the OnAvaya – Google Cloud Platform.
Microsoft (MSFT) and Red Hat customers now can deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux instances from the Azure Marketplace. The Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 and 7.2 images are available in all regions except for China and U.S. Government.
CenturyLink (CTL) has introduced an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offering for government agencies. The new release provides government agencies with tools to help them migrate and extend their data center workloads to the cloud while also complying with federal security standards, according to the company.
IBM (IBM) has announced plans to modernize its programs to make them more compatible with a cloud services world and reorient partners around its cognitive computing efforts known as "Watson." At this month's IBM PartnerWorld Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, Big Blue said it is focused on simplifying programmatics and taxonomy to help its partners increase their profits and customer satisfaction levels.
Chinese shipping container transportation company Tianjin Tianhai Investment has purchased Ingram Micro (IM) for $6 billion. Ingram Micro said it will operate as a subsidiary of Tianjin Tianhai, and its executive leadership team will remain intact.
Verizon (VZ) has announced it is shutting down its public cloud service. The company said its cloud customers have until Apr. 12, 2016 to move their data elsewhere.
