Acronis Launches Data Protection and Backup Cloud Service

Data protection solution provider Acronis is looking to provide enterprise customers with a new solution to ensure the safety of their sensitive information with the launch of Acronis Backup Service, a local and cloud backup solution with bare metal recovery capabilities.

Acronis Backup Service is expected to help customers protect their information by allowing users to back up data from any source and designate their data recovery to any destination and system, according to the announcement. The solution also allows customers to remotely manage their data housed in virtual, physical, cloud and mobile environments through a single pane of glass via the Acronis AnyData Engine.

“We engineered Acronis Backup Services specifically to support partners and end-users who do not have their own data center but need enterprise-class data protection,” said Chris Hilderbrand, vice president of Global Channel Sales at Acronis, in a statement. “ABS is ideal for distributors and resellers because it allows them to provision cloud backup and recovery services for all leading infrastructure platforms, with no upfront costs and without changing the way they sell and do business.”

According to Acronis, the service provides users the flexibility to control the means and storage location of sensitive information once it is captured. ABS will also allow users to restore to dissimilar hardware, such as virtual machines with bare-metal restore capabilities.

The company is offering a subscription-based model for its backup services to help customers mitigate upfront costs.

Last week Acronis unveiled its new global partner program, which promised to reward partners based on demand generation and high value selling with sales and readiness resources aimed at strengthening their competencies.
