Acumatica, the channel-centric cloud ERP and CRM provider, has hired Ali Jani as VP of product management. In his new role, Jani (pictured) will work with Acumatica’s reseller base to develop new products and solutions. Here’s some insight on the strategy.Jani has plenty of ERP experience under his belt. According to his bio, he developed internal solutions for white-box PC manufacturer Accel Inc. back in 1989, and in 1994 he founded Everest Software, which “pioneered the first all-in-one ERP solution for multi-channel SMBs.”
He stayed at Everest, developing their product and guiding the business, until it was acquired in 2009 by Versata Software. Now, in his new role at Acumatica, he’s responsible for developing the company’s product portfolio, their product lifecycle, and their go-to-market strategy.
With large competitors like NetSuite looking to get into selling ERP-as-a-service through the channel, Jani has his work cut out for him setting Acumatica’s offering apart. But don’t forget: Acumatica already focuses entirely on the channel. Plus, the company has introduced a three year price guarantee to entice NetSuite customers over to Acumatica’s platform.
