It has been less than a month since ASG Software acquired NTRglobal. So what are the potential ASG-NTRglobal synergies for managed services providers (MSPs) and cloud services providers (CSPs)? Long-term strategies are still in the planning stages, but keep an eye on the broader ASG Software portfolio, including the CloudFactory offering, hints Natalie Hahn O’Flaherty, senior VP of marketing at ASG, and Tim Hillison, VP of global marketing at NTRglobal.

Many Talkin’ Cloud and MSPmentor readers know NTRglobal because of its cloud-based IT service management, help desk and chat solutions. Moreover, MSP- and channel-centric software companies like ConnectWise and N-able Technologies also have tight relationships with NTRglobal.

Meanwhile, ASG Software — backed by 1,300 employees — has a range of partner-centric initiatives. O’Flaherty says ASG Software focuses on three core audiences:

  • The folks who develop applications

  • The infrastructure folks who need to run everything

  • And the content management experts who need to oversee both structured and unstructured data

“We’re talking to three audiences who don’t always talk to each other,” says Flaherty. “And that has allowed us to generate great conversations, including in the channel. We’ll maintain NTRglobal’s great relationships, and we’ll be looking to grow those without a doubt.”

CloudFactory and NTRglobal? Hmmm…

What are the potential synergies ahead? While it’s a bit premature for big announcements, it’s a safe bet ASG Software is exploring ways to integrate its:

  • infrastructure management solutions with NTRglobal’s help desk and IT service management capabilities.

  • CloudFactory platform with NTRglobal’s offerings, giving telcos and cloud services providers (CSPs) new SaaS, desktop as a service (DaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) options backed by cloud-based help desks.

“NTRglobal with CloudFactory is a perfect example of how we might be able to deliver a cross [product] solution,” said O’Flaherty.

Added Hillison, “It’s an exciting time because of the potential synergies across ASG Software and NTRglobal. We’ve got similar target audiences across developers and infrastructure managers. We’re operating as one company and it started several weeks ago.”

Talkin’ Cloud will keep listening for more updates.
