AT&T and Google Cloud are teaming up to provide improved collaboration and cloud networking to business customers.

Through Google’s newly launched Partner Interconnect, business customers will be able to use AT&T NetBond for Cloud to connect to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The new alliance also makes G Suite, Google’s cloud-based productivity suite for business, including Gmail, Docs and Drive, available through AT&T Collaborate, the hosted voice and collaboration offering for businesses of all sizes.

Zee Hussain, senior vice president and channel chief for AT&T Partner Solutions, tells Channel Partners that AT&T partners will have the ability to sell NetBond connectivity to the GCP. It is available via the carrier’s Partner Exchange and Alliance Channel programs.

“More enterprises want the flexibility of a multicloud strategy, and need to seamlessly integrate their data into different clouds so that data can move efficiently across multiple cloud platforms,” he said. “Customers use different cloud providers for services such as backup/disaster recovery between cloud firms. Google has joined more than 20 leading cloud providers in the NetBond for Cloud ecosystem, which gives access to more than 130 different cloud solutions.”

With NetBond, AT&T’s solution providers will be able to offer their customers access to the “sensitive information that they’ve stored in the cloud over a method that is more secure, predictable and reliable than the public internet,” Hussain said.

Partner Interconnect offers organizations private connectivity to GCP and allows data centers far from a Google Cloud region or point of presence to connect at up to 10Gbps. Additionally, with G Suite now available alongside AT&T Collaborate, businesses will get access to a single source for chat, voice, video and desktop sharing. Businesses also can enable carrier-grade voice reliability and security from within the G Suite applications.

G Suite can be used across any device, regardless of work location, providing further flexibility for mobile workers.

“We deliver integrated cloud solutions to help businesses move to the cloud confidently,” Hussain said. “Our solutions combine the power of our network, highly secure access to a robust ecosystem of cloud service providers and an industry-leading cloud networking service. Our expertise unlocks the potential of cloud adoption so businesses can move to the cloud with confidence. We are enhancing security and performance, simplifying network management and providing users with more control.”

AT&T is “doubling down” on its commitment to third-party distribution, Hussain said.

“In AT&T Partner Solutions, we’re committed to our solution providers’ success,” he said. “That commitment includes transforming for the future in everything we do – from introducing leading-edge services and solutions, to increasing our investment in the platforms, tools and capabilities we deliver.”

“AT&T provides organizations globally with secure, smart solutions, and our work to bring Google Cloud’s portfolio of products, services and tools to every layer of its customers’ business helps serve this mission,” said Paul Ferrand, Google Cloud’s president of global customer operations. “Our alliance allows businesses to seamlessly communicate and collaborate from virtually anywhere and connect their networks to our highly scalable and reliable infrastructure.”
