Axis Technology Software is launching a test environment on the Rackspace Cloud. Axis and Rackspace (NYSE: RAX) partnered to launch the test environment, which gives users the option of which data center they choose, whether it’s in their own data center, at a colocation facility or in one of Rackspace’s global data centers using DMsuite and OpenStack-powered Rackspace.
Axis noted in its announcement that as companies increasingly turn to the cloud, they are concerned about data security and looking for ways to eliminate the risk of sensitive data being exposed and ensure all compliance regulations are met.
“Cloud computing is constantly evolving, and businesses are embracing the cloud at an even faster rate,” said Mike Logan, president of Axis Technology Software, in a prepared statement. “Much like just about every other technology innovation, risks always emerge—especially when it comes to security. In the last year alone we have seen headline after headline that discussed security breaches in the cloud, or other disasters that put private information in jeopardy. By partnering with Rackspace, customers do not need to worry about whether or not their data will fall victim to any vulnerabilities related to doing business in the cloud."
For partners and developers, the joint offering has been designed to provide a secure place to test cloud services.
With Rackspace providing the cloud data centers, Axis is providing the software to profile, provision and mask data. Its flagship software that will make up part of the joint solution is DMsuite, which Axis developed to secure development, quality assurance and third-party testing environments. Earlier this month, Axis released DMsuite 4.1 at the HIMSS13 Conference.
