BCSG Recruits Former HP Cloud Exec Marsden to Head Service Providers Division

Cloud services marketplace provider Business Centric Services Group (BCSG) expanded its leadership team by hiring Tim Marsden to head up its Service Providers division.

Marsden is no stranger to IT applications and has more than 20 years of experience in leadership positions in both IT and telecommunications companies. He’s also no stranger to the cloud. Prior to taking the new position at BCSG, Marsden was Global Cloud director at Telefonica, focusing on growing the company’s business across Europe and Latin America.

Previously, Marsden was also director of Applications and Cloud Enablement for Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), where he worked closely with global service providers to bring HP’s cloud solutions to small and medium business (SMB) customers.

That experience should help him in his new role. BCSG focuses on enabling small businesses to connect their customers to cloud services. According to the hiring announcement, Marsden will play a significant role in accelerating its growth; and his experience will certainly be an asset in growing the business.

“There is huge growth in cloud business apps use by SMBs expected over the next few years and service providers are ideally positioned to capitalize on this,” Marsden said in a prepared statement. “BCSG is well placed to be their partner of choice as they provide complete support, including platform, apps portfolio, sales channel enablement and end-customer support desk allowing service providers to focus on growing their business. BCSG is very focused on building engagement with service provider partners globally and penetrating further into this very fertile market.”

So far, BCSG has done well for itself. This year, the company was featured in the Talkin’ Cloud 100: 2014 Edition as number 43. BCSG has experienced over 400 percent growth in the last four years, and the company noted Marsden’s appointment is an important step in meeting the growing demand for cloud solutions that service providers can offer to their SMB customers.
