BetterCloud Raises $6M for Salesforce and Zendesk Expansion
Google (GOOG) Apps developer BetterCloud has secured $6 million Series B funding for the expansion of its flagship product beyond the Google Apps suite and into new cloud territory.
Google (GOOG) Apps developer BetterCloud has secured $6 million Series B funding for the expansion of its flagship product, FlashPanel, beyond the Google Apps suite and into new cloud territory.
Flybridge Capital Partners led the round with participation from Greycroft Partners, TriBeCa Venture Partners, Bear Creek Capital, Hallett Capital and BLH Venture Partners, bringing the company’s total venture funding to $13.25 million.
BetterCloud said the expansion of the product will begin with user management and security features for Salesforce.com (CRM), aiming to integrate with Zendesk and other prominent cloud software systems in the near future.
According to BetterCloud, the Salesforce integration will focus on user provisioning and deprovisioning, activity auditing and general security settings. Newer features will also integrate with existing functionality in FlashPanel to produce an integrated management suite.
BetterCloud founder and CEO David Politis said in his prepared remarks that the company’s shift in focus to cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) came from close attention to customer feedback.
“It’s clear that companies are moving their IT infrastructure and accompanying applications to the public cloud and this trend has created a whole new set of challenges that legacy IT management software isn’t addressing,” he said. “Beyond Google Apps, the majority of our customers are predominantly using cloud-based CRM products, so we’ll be addressing customer concerns here first.”
BetterCloud’s last funding round raised $5 million back in January 2013 for the development of better cloud management and security tools for Google Apps users.
The company also recently launched its FlashPanel Reseller Console, a dashboard tool that enables cloud services brokerages (CSBs) to create, manage and monitor customer accounts, back in August 2013.
