Carbonite (CARB) released the latest version of its MailStore Server email archiving solution this week, with additional features including an integrated job scheduler, tighter support for Office 365 and improved search functionality.

The cloud and hybrid business continuity solutions provider said the new MailStore Server will allow users to more easily schedule jobs without the need for third-party tools such as Windows Task Scheduler, according to the announcement. All security and maintenance tasks including backups, rebuilding corrupt search indexes and data verification can be provisioned directly through MailStore and monitored through a single pane of glass.

The latest version of MailStore also will feature tighter support and integration with Microsoft Office 365, enabling users to synchronize the MailStore Server user list directly with Office 365 without needing to go through Active Directory. Carbonite has also made user authentication a direct process via Office 365’s access data.

For improved search capabilities, Carbonite has added message list optimization for MailStore Web Access and the Outlook add-in to make it easier for users to navigate their search results and content within specific folders.

The new update is available now and is being offered as a free update to current MailStore customers with active update and support service. Those who don’t have a service subscription and would like to try before buying can take advantage of a 30-day trial version for new users, the company noted.

“Email communication has become an integral part of continuous business operations and ensuring long-term access to all emails—and the information within—is critical to the success of businesses of all sizes,” said Christopher Wey, vice president of Corporate Development at Carbonite, in a statement. “MailStore Server email archiving enables SMBs to protect their businesses against data loss and helps them meet growing regulations on email compliance, eDiscovery and other legislation, at an affordable, fixed price.”
