Cloud hosting and recovery specialist Hosting.com has acquired Dallas-based managed hosting service provider NeoSpire in a play to expand its physical footprint and service a wider geographical region, especially in the southern United States.

While the financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, we do know from the press release that Hosting.com gets to add NeoSpire’s roster of talent to its own. But in more concrete terms, Hosting.com gets ownership of NeoSpire’s secure data center facilities in Dallas; Denver; Irvine, Calif.; Louisville, Ky.; Newark, Del.; and San Francisco.

Moreover, that Dallas location is specially designed to help customers meet stringent compliance and security needs. Altogether, Hosting.com now has 131,000 square feet of colocation facilities in six cities.

NeoSpire customers will gain access to Hosting.com’s portfolio of availability and recovery services including Cloud Replication, a disaster recovery solution that uses VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5 (SRM 5) for offsite storage.

Art Zeile, CEO of Hosting.com, expressed excitement for the deal in a prepared statement:

“The synergistic relationship between NeoSpire’s managed hosting services, including managed security, application hosting, database administration, exchange hosting, SaaS hosting and colocation work well within the current and future direction of Hosting.com’s strategic plans. We’re excited to bring their current customers into our portfolio and leverage NeoSpire’s extensive security operations and expertise.”

If you think you may be affected by the deal, there’s an FAQ available. But the upshot is Hosting.com says it’s financially stable, in growth mode and will be ready to provide existing and new customers with the full range of both companies’ portfolios and technology innovations within the next six months.
