At AWS re:Invent this week, Cloud Technology Partners unveiled a new business unit that the company hopes will help ISVs, developers and enterprises to cloud-enable their existing on-premise software.
Dubbed CTP Labs, the new unit’s sole purpose is to transform existing software and enterprise systems into multi-tenant, auto-scaling cloud services. For developers and enterprises looking to port their existing on-premise software to the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, the CTP Labs staff provide market analysis, business modeling, as well as product planning and development.
“Many of our clients are ISVs and enterprises that provide ISV-like services to their customers. They are investing in becoming cloud software providers to better support their existing customer base and generate new revenue opportunities,” said Chris Greendale, founder and CEO of Cloud Technology Partners, in a prepared statement. “CTP Labs applies our deep experience in building cloud products, including a proven approach and toolset, to transform existing ISVs into cloud software providers.”
Through CTP Labs, Cloud Technology Partners will provide developers and enterprises looking to SaaS-ify their applications with “pre-packaged and proven approaches, methods, frameworks and toolsets” to help shift traditional software to the cloud, said David Linthicum, senior vice president of Cloud Technology Partners, in a prepared statement.
According to the company, some of what CTP Labs will offer includes:
A proven approach to defining, architecting, building, testing and deploying cloud services designed for both ISVs and enterprises.
Access to experienced analysts, architects and developers with business-critical delivery experience working with enterprises and ISVs.
The ability to provide advice on emerging cloud market trends to address specific market opportunities.
A technology suite that includes Cloud Technology Partners’ PaaSLane code assessment software for optimizing existing software.
Pricing will be on a per-project basis. According to Cloud Technology Partners, typical engagements range from three months to one year.
