CloudNOW Announces Winners of Top 10 Women in Cloud Awards

Workplace diversity is a huge issue that many technology companies are grappling with today. The problem has become so pronounced that the Obama administration brokered a number of new initiatives this week to improve diversity, including hiring policies that ensure diverse recruitment.

In order to help address the gender gap in the cloud industry specifically, The Cloud Network of Women (CloudNOW) was founded as a non-profit consortium of the leading women in cloud computing. It aims to provide a forum for networking, knowledge sharing, mentoring and economic growth, according to its website.

Winners will compete for the Top Woman in Cloud title on Sept. 24 in Menlo Park, Calif., by presenting a pitch to CloudNOW judges Bernard Golden, VP of strategy for ActiveState Software and CloudNOW advisor and Gretchen Curtis, co-founder and CMO of Piston Cloud acquired by Cisco. Joanne Moretti, SVP of marketing and sales enablement, Jabil, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

“The Top 10 Women in Cloud are shaping the industry today, and breaking glass for the future generation of tech leaders,” CloudNOW founder Jocelyn DeGance Graham said. “To that end, CloudNOW is thrilled to be announcing our 2015 winners as we continue to fulfill our Mission of supporting women in tech across their career life-cycle.”
