dinCloud Elevates Security to C-level Job, Names SecureAuth Co-Founder CSO
In the wake of multiple big-name security breaches at Home Depot, Kmart and Target in recent months, dinCloud has named SecureAuth co-founder Garret Grajek its first CSO. Grajek will be responsible for securing the dinCloud infrastructure and ensuring its customers are protected against cyber threats.
Cloud services provider (CSP) dinCloud has elevated security to a C-level job, naming SecureAuth co-founder Garret Grajek as chief security officer (CSO) of its worldwide cloud services portfolio.
Why name a CSO for the first time now? dinCloud CTO Mike Chase told MSPmentor that recent cyber attacks have brought security even more to the forefront.
“In light of the recent attacks on K-Mart, Home Depot, and Target – let alone the continuing cyber attacks on enterprise infrastructure – we at dinCloud felt an emphasis on security was paramount,” he told MSPmentor. “dinCloud recognizes that one of the key factors in in an enterprise’s decision to move to the cloud, is security.”
Grajek brings 30 years of experience to the job after spending a career at companies such as RSA, IBM, Cisco, and Grajek’s own companies, Chase noted. The Gardena, California-based CSP said Grajek will be responsible for securing the company’s infrastructure and ensuring its customers are protected against cyber threats.
“Garret is the ideal person to lead dinCloud’s already unique and secure offerings,” Chase said in a prepared statement. “Bringing Garret aboard adds a tremendous amount of credibility to our company.”
What does Grajek bring to dinCloud?
In addition to founding SecureAuth, Grajek has worked on several security projects for major commercial accounts, including:
Dish Networks
E*Trade
HBO
Office Depot
TicketMaster
Grajek holds eight patents involving x.509, federation, mobile, multi-factor and single sign-on (SSO) technologies and specializes in developing scalable cloud and mobile solutions for enterprises, dinCloud said.
dinCloud is just the most recent IT service provider to have elevated security to a C-level job over the last year. EarthLink (ELNK), the top-ranked managed service provider (MSP) on this year’s MSPmentor 501 Global Edition, appointed longtime IT security executive Peter Chronis as its CSO in June.
