FiberCloud Launches IaaS-based Cloud Servers for Enterprises, SMBs
Cloud infrastructure provider FiberCloud today unveiled Cloud Servers for enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Seattle-based cloud infrastructure provider FiberCloud today launched Cloud Servers for enterprises and small and midsize (SMBs).
FiberCloud said the new infrastructure-as-a-service-based (IaaS-based) cloud servers are designed to “help organizations rapidly deploy and scale their software applications for greater business agility and growth.”
The Cloud Servers are built on the open-source Apache CloudStack platform, and provide enterprises and SMBs with greater visibility into their cloud deployments, according to FiberCloud.
“Now our SMB and enterprise customers have access to best-in-class cloud orchestration tools that were previously available to large enterprises only,” FiberCloud COO Sue DeFlorio said in a prepared statement. “Customers also gain greater control and visibility into their cloud deployments without the need to make additional IT or network resource investments.”
How do the cloud servers work?
FiberCloud customers can manage their cloud servers via Cloud Manager, a cloud environment that “helps them rapidly deploy and scale their software applications for greater business agility and growth using a Web-based self-management portal.”
Cloud Manager features:
Integrated firewall
Remote server management
Resource and utilization dashboards
Virtual private network (VPN) and load balancer
Web-based access to cloud servers
FiberCloud also noted its cloud servers offer several benefits to customers, including:
Business continuity for critical applications and data
Flexibility and scalability
Lower total cost of ownership
These servers can help ensure maximum uptime and enterprise-level cloud computing, FiberCloud said.
“We are able to arm our ecosystem of partners with a cloud environment that specifically meets the needs of the SMB customer base they serve,” a FiberCloud spokesperson told Talkin’ Cloud.
FiberCloud’s Cloud Servers and Cloud Manager portal are IaaS solutions that are hosted in the company’s privately owned and operated data centers.
