Cloudmore CEO Michael Wicander has been in the IT industry for more than 15 years. His mission: enable operators, resellers and ISVs to participate in a growing SaaS market on equal terms. Where did Wicander take his wife to see a famous Swedish singer-songwriter? We'll provide the answer, along with other facts about his life outside of the office.
WICANDER: My last concert was with my wife. We went to see the Swedish singer-songwriter Petra Marklund in Stockholm earlier this year. Petra, more known as internationally bestselling dance music act September, did a short tour following her first Swedish album, Inferno. It was a great experience, with strong vocals, great sound and lighting.
TALKIN CLOUD's SPIN: Well, since you did a good enough job introducing her to our audience, I can now kick my feet up and relax on this one.
WICANDER: I watched an old James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) movie the other night and was surprised by how bad it had aged — hats-off to the old Sean Connery ones.
TALKIN CLOUD's SPIN: This is where all the readers expect me to recite a James Bond quote, but I won't do it. The very words I live by.
WICANDER: Not big on TV shows, but will have to say Californication — I really appreciated the dark humour.
TALKIN CLOUD's SPIN: We like the album titled "Californication" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
WICANDER: To build a cloud service that has a price point to make it available to all companies, no matter what their size or industry, enabling them to access functionality previously only available to enterprises.
We believe that software should be priced according to the value created for the company, hence the commoditized services like email, files, office etc. should not cost more than $1 per user per month when aggregated.
TALKIN CLOUD's SPIN: The result of Wicander's last big idea: Cloudmore.
WICANDER: A new phone — my last one died on me during my summer vacation.
TALKIN CLOUD's SPIN: Which type of phone did Wicander replace his old phone with? We may never know. But since the iPhone is common among techies, here's a picture of that.
WICANDER: Some flashlight app for my cell phone — needed a light as I was trying to service a boat engine.
TALKIN CLOUD's SPIN: Those flashlight apps can be pretty blinding.
WICANDER: Cloudmore Csub.
