GFI Software, which provides network infrastructure, security, and collaboration solutions for the SMB, has inked a partnership with Intel to host GFI VIPRE Antivirus, GFI LANguard, GFI EventsManager and GFI EndPointSecurity in the MSP-deployable Intel Hybrid Cloud. And they’re promising more cloud security and management tools to come.

As a refresher, the Intel Hybrid Cloud offering lets the MSP deploy a server on the customers’ premises. MSPs can manage said server remotely and use it to link the customer to various cloud services. It’s all pay-as-you-go, for both the hardware and software. The small business gets their data kept on site while still getting to reap the benefits of scalable, cheap cloud services.

Here’s the skinny on the cloud-hosted offerings, taken directly from GFI Software’s press release:

    • GFI VIPRE Antivirus – Defends against viruses, adware, spyware, worms, rootkits, phishing attacks, malicious URLs and more without slowing down PCs

    • GFI LANguard – Provides comprehensive monitoring, patch management for Microsoft and other popular software, vulnerability analysis, asset inventory and other services to ensure network security and compliance

    • GFI EventsManager – Helps businesses meet a broad array of security, regulatory compliance, business continuity and e-discovery requirements by collecting, logging and analyzing events occurring on the network

    • GFI EndPointSecurity – Prevents data loss and theft by controlling what devices access the network, blocking malicious or unauthorized software, and centrally monitoring the network for newly connected devices

As we noted above, GFI Software is no stranger to the hosted services market, launching SMB storage in January 2011 and the GFI MAX MailArchive in March. And that’s not to mention the channel ripples around February’s hiring of Pat Hume as channel chief.

It’s been a while since we’d heard anything about the Intel Hybrid Cloud, though. But needless to say, if GFI Software is signing on, we’ll be keeping a closer eye out for signs of life, so keep watching TalkinCloud.
