IBM plans to introduce 20 new cloud-based business offerings that Big Blue claims can be easily personalized to a customer’s unique business requirements. Delivered under the new IBM Cloud Business Solutions portfolio, the new cloud solutions were designed to combine the scale, speed and ease of cloud with IBM Consulting Services to address specific industry verticals and business functions, including mobile, counter fraud and analytics, according to the company.
The new portfolio provides multiple components available on the IBM Cloud Marketplace packaged into a single customer agreement and delivered as a service to be as quick and simple as possible. Included in the offerings are consulting services, pre-built assets from IBM Research, software, advanced analytics, ongoing support and cloud infrastructure delivered through SoftLayer.
“Our clients view cloud as the catalyst for entirely new business models, not just technology innovation. The decision to use cloud to support business priorities is being strongly influenced—if not entirely determined—by leaders across the C-Suite,” said Kelly Chambliss, CTO of IBM Global Business Services, in a prepared statement. “IBM Cloud Business Solutions represent the next evolution in high-value business services, in line with the expectations and priorities of our clients. We’re providing access to the best IBM has to offer—from cloud to data analytics—as a simple, accessible and customizable service.”
Although 20 cloud-based business offerings are planned, IBM is only ready with 12 of them at launch. And according to IBM, many of the cloud solutions come with deep analytics from assets developed by IBM Research.
According Big Blue, the approach it’s taking recognizes the mandate for speed and time to value, as well as the requirements of customers to be able to personalize business solutions to their own processes and deploy them in the cloud.
