Cloud storage provider IDrive is looking to boost its channel go-to-market strategy. The company unveiled its Bulk Reseller Program, which is the second program after its Partner Referral Program.
IDrive operates at arms reach from the channel, and the new program doesn't really change. The referral program provides partners with a 25 percent commission on all the paid signups that result from their referrals.
The new program is a step in the right direction, but IDrive may still have a ways to go before its partner programs meet the standards of many of the programs in the market. The Bulk Reseller Program was designed as a "sell to" instead of a "sell through" program.
Through the program, resellers purchase large amounts of cloud storage from IDrive and resell it to their customers.
"The Bulk Reseller Program is extremely beneficial for those looking to include an online backup strategy as part of their company offering," said Shane Bingham, Business Development coordinator and director of the IDrive Partner Program, in a prepared statement. "The program enables channel partners to purchase data in bulk to save money and then resell it at a price they determine for a profit."
Reseller partners are able to view their end users' storage and control their billing options. There's a co-branded option that partners can sign up in which they can add their own logo to the IDrive cloud services they sell. A full white-label version wasn't mentioned.
Plans for purchasing cloud storage from IDrive begin at $799.50 for 1,000GB of storage space, but IDrive is offering partners a 50 percent discount for a limited time.
