Eric Webster (pictured) is leaping from one cloud upstart to another. After leaving online backup specialist Intronis earlier this year, Webster has surfaced at Doyenz, promoter of ShadowCloud technology for VARs and MSPs. Here are some quick details.

Webster’s arrival at Seattle-based Doyenz has been rumored for weeks. We dropped some hints here and here but we’ve been waiting for the official announcement from Doyenz, which finally arrived today. According to a Doyenz statement, Webster has been named VP of sales and marketing, playing a “key role in improving profitability by identifying new business opportunities and accelerating revenue growth.”

Webster will attempt to help Doyenz accelerate its ShadowCloud strategy, which offers application testing and migration in the cloud for minimal business risk, the company claims. Doyenz CEO Ashutosh Tiwary explained the strategy during the recent CompTIA Breakaway conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Before joining Doyenz, Webster was widely credited with helping Intronis shift from a direct sales model to a pure channel sales model. Intronis CEO Sam Gutmann and new Channel Chief Ted Roller continue to build on that strategy.
