Jitterbit Updates Harmony with Dozens of New Features, Enhancements

Jitterbit, the API integration platform provider, on Wednesday announced the latest version of Jitterbit Harmony, which boasts more than 120 new product features and enhancements covering private cloud agents, cloud agent groups, connectors, API manager and Docker support, to mention a handful.

Other key release highlights in Jitterbit’s enterprise iPaaS solution include: Connector Builder, Connector SDK, expanded connectivity and Cloud Studio. The new release offers something for everyone or all integration personas – integration specialists, “ad-hoc” integrators, and citizen integrators – as laid out by Gartner.

“There’s so much technology, that if you put integration into the hands of all these other people (personas) instead just the integration specialists, then life will be much better — that’s been our focus for years,” Simon Peel, chief strategy officer and chief marketing officer at Jitterbit, told Channel Futures. “With our technology, everyone is safe and secure, even though all these [multiple integration personas] are using integration tools.”

Here’s a deeper dive into the latest product features and enhancements that Peel notes are primarily customer driven:

Peel focused on some of the Harmony platform enhancements such as support for a Jitterbit Linux OS private agent that’s packaged in a private Docker container; or improved private agents that can run a scheduled operation within an agent group.

“You configure things in our studio and when you’re ready to run, you give it to an agent – or runtime – and you can put it anywhere; it can run in the cloud or you can take that agent on premises,” said Peel.

That’s a different strategy than other vendors who run only in the cloud, he added.

“We think it’s incredibly important to make on-premises a first-class citizen,” said Peel.

Sandbox Cloud Agent Group allows users early access to the upcoming version of Jitterbit Cloud Agent. This allows them to get up and running and do testing.

Jitterbit added more than 35 new features and enhancements to its API Manager tool — for example, the private API gateway lets users create, update, delete ad clone proxy APIs; and there’s now a top 10 dashboard on the API analytics page.
